Before I started the MSA tutorial classes, all I knew were very basic science facts and rudimentary english words. In the summer of 2017, I was informed by my parents regarding a school called Philippine Science High School, a school which gives you a 6 year scholarship. In order to get the scholarship, you would have to take the National Competitive Examination (NCE). There were about 37,000 examinees, but only 240 passers (0.7%) would be chosen for the main campus. It’s not an easy exam, and every parent knows that. During the summer of 2018, I had to start studying for the NCE. At first, I hesitated to study because I wasn’t learning that much and so I didn’t find a purpose to even study.
Then, a friend of one of my parents recommended a tutorial center, which was MSA. He said that it had helped his son pass the NCE, and so my parents decided to enroll me. I started with Academic Advancement in May of 2018 so that I would know the lessons being discussed throughout the school year and I would have more time to study for the NCE. I’m an introvert, meaning it was hard for me to communicate with the teachers.
But overtime, the MSA teachers helped me to overcome shyness, and I eventually became less shy. The MSA teachers are very kind, accommodating, and approachable.

Afterwards, I took the Science High School Entrance Test Preparation. I still wasn’t very good at some topics, but as the days went by, I realized that just through the lessons, I got more and more interested each time. They also gave practice books and sheets, which were very helpful on my part since I can answer them myself, at home and try to assess where I stand and how I’m doing. It was like I was already taking the actual test. The last review I took was the Philippine Science High School Entrance Test Preparation. For the first time, I had classmates. It was a new experience for me because they were people who I didn’t even know.

I wasn’t sure if I should recite or not because as I said, I was an introvert. But my classmates and the teachers made the class a fun class, and made MSA a very fun experience. I never thought I’d make friends but eventually, I did. The MSA program not only helped me with academics and helped me with the review, but also helped boost my confidence and overcome my shyness. Eventually, the results came out, and through God’s will, I passed! I was once told that when much is given, much is expected in return. So to MSA, I’m very humbled and in deep gratitude for your help.
I’d definitely recommend this tutorial center because it helped me, and I’m sure it will help all of you. From the very beginning, I knew that reviewing for the college entrance tests was going to be one of the most difficult things ever. There were so many lessons and topics that had to be taken up each day to be able to match up with the coverage of the different exams. Though there were many times I wanted to give up, the great teachers at MSA motivated me and brought me to my full potential! They helped me form habits that would come in handy even when I was even studying on my own, and trained me to keep calm and think critically when the day of testing came.
But beyond that, they were also there for moral support and guidance. I chose MSA as my review center for the college entrance tests, and with their help I was able to pass both the ACET and DCAT!

MSA's review classes taught me the skills I needed to pass my CETs and gave me insights I which I found useful when taking the tests. The teachers gave thorough explanations for the commonly used questions and the styles in which they're written. This helped my hone my skills in comprehension and analysis which were vital in the tests. The teachers also gave useful tips and tricks when answering the exam which helped me pass my CETs.
The staff were highly skilled and friendly, and the location (Katipunan) also gave me a small taste of college life. I'm thankful to MSA for not only giving me the tools I needed to pass, but also for giving me a slight glimpse into college life and a bunch of new friends. My first major lifetime goal was completed. Last December 2018, the results of the National Competitive Examination or NCE for Philippine Science Batch 2025 were released, and fortunately, my name was written there in the list of qualifiers! Yes - I have completed my goal, but what propelled me to do so?
MSA has been a good help to me and my sister from the start, helping me especially in the areas I was the weakest in. I have had many flaws in area such as vocabulary, yet instead of humiliating me, they helped me to understand that area more and gave me tips to be able to understand it more. Another area that I was weak in was Mathematics. They gave me many formulas for me. Their techniques did not just help me in the examinations, but was a good aid in my schoolwork.
Along with perseverance and sufficient studying, MSA has been a great aid for me to be able to pass the examination. They also provided reading materials and useful questions along with their informative discussions. MSA has always been a trusted place for me and my family, as we have trusted them for about four years, and every time we came, we always got what we expected from them: quality education and information, especially at the time me and my sister went there to review for school and for the NCE Qualifying Examinations. Every time I enter MSA, I feel sure that I will learn a lot because they care. Therefore, I thank MSA for helping me through my journey in succeeding one of my biggest goals in my current life.
As I step inside the campus, I will persist as a sign of my gratitude to MSA. I will persist and get the best grades I can ever get inside the PSHS campus. I appreciate all the hard work that MSA put into my review. At MSA, I love that everyone was so friendly and helpful.
They took the time to identify my areas of weakness and targeted those issues. Because of the personalized instruction I received, I successfully passed the NCE, the one-time screening examination of the country’s premier science high school: PSHS. I even qualified to go to the Main Campus! Thanks again, MSA! I look forward to working with you again in the future because with you, success is assured. Congratulations to our Grade 6 Whiz Kids who passed the 2018 PSHS National Competitive Examination. We are very proud to have you in our list of MSA PISAY SCHOLARS!

'I am a naturally shy girl. Even at school, I often lack confidence in my abilities.
When I took the Diagnostic Test at MSA, I got a failing grade. I told my mom that I have no way of passing the test. But she encouraged me to keep going, to continue answering my workbook, and to listen carefully to my teachers. And so I did! I took to heart the explanations, techniques, and tips I have learned at MSA.
I literally jumped for joy upon seeing my name on the list of Philippine Science High School National Competitive Examination passers! MSA prepared me a lot for the exam day: The mock tests familiarized me in answering even unfamiliar questions. Now, I am more confident as I brace on my journey as a Pisay student.' “A legendary football player once quoted, “Practice does not make you perfect. Only perfect practice make perfect” Such was may experience in MSA that I passed the Big Three in the Philippines UP Diliman, Ateneo, and DLSU. With their sufficient learning materials, MSA has sharpened my knowledge that the test could not beat me down.
The teachers are outstanding as their techniques and shortcuts allowed me to breeze through all the college entrance exams. MSA has also helped me surpass my limits and dream for bigger future.”. “During the review, I was really doubting myself if I can get a high score in NMAT, knowing that UP students will also take the test. So I studied harder. I bought other NMAT review books aside from the ones that were included in the program. A month before the test, I studied even after going home from duty tired and sleepy.
I did not go to any party, and I did not touch my gaming consoles. I was really focused in the test. After the program ended, I did some dry run numerous times, answering the books I bought from MSA. I read each explanation, and answered the booklets again.”. I was on my way on becoming an engineer but I made a complete turn and decided to pursue medicine. The first step was to ace the National Medical Admission Test.
Being an engineering graduate left me with road blocks and barriers. I have very little background in biology and have only general knowledge in chemistry. It's true that I am at a disadvantage but I was not hopeless. I knew that I could not do this alone but with the help of MSA I had a chance of getting a high enough score on the NMAT to get into one of my target medical schools. Looking at the review modules, I was overwhelmed with how much information I needed to study and truly understand.
Thankfully, I had competent MSA teachers to help me fully understand these lessons. Together with the teachers, I worked on my weaknesses. What they did was more than just teach, you could feel that they sincerely want you to ace your exam. Besides from the topic discussions, we were also given challenging practice exams that prepared us for the NMAT. All in all, MSA did an excellent job in preparing me for my NMAT. A month after taking the NMAT, I received my score. Who would have thought that I could have a percentile rank of 91?
But I did it! Together with a great support system and faith in yourself and God, you could turn every barrier into bridges to achieve your goals and dreams. 'I'd say that the constant and everyday challenges of the MSA modules and quizzes helped me a lot because it required me to think quickly on my feet to be able to answer the questions at hand. Also, the HW they tasked me with helped me retain the knowledge I reacquired through the review lessons because even in my home, we had to remember the topics at hand and ways to solve problems. Since we used the classic pen and paper, our muscle memory kicked in and made my memory stronger. That being said, these ways of the review center helped me a lot in passing the entrance exams.
'MSA has helped me a lot in passing the entrance exams. One of the first things that I learned from MSA is not to be too complacent. I was quite confident of my skills, but MSA taught me that you need more to be able to pass the entrance exams.
This realization helped me strive to become better. The lessons in MSA was quite difficult. The coverage was broad and it included all and maybe even more than what showed up in the entrance exams. It included all of the lessons that was needed for the exams, from the basics to the more advanced lessons.
Some were already taken during class in high school, but MSA explained it in a much simpler way that we can comprehend and remember easily. The tutors were also generous in giving clever advises and tips that would help us immensely in our entrance exams.
It was difficult, reviewing all the materials that MSA gave me and remembering all the helpful tips and advices, but it sure was worth it. I am not complaining about the difficulty of the tutorial, but rather I am actually feeling thankful. I am probably not going to pass the UPCAT and ACET if not for the help of MSA. Getting used to difficult lessons actually made UPCAT and ACET seem like a breeze. Again, thank you MSA for helping me pass my college entrance tests. I hope you continue your excellent service for the future College Entrance Training Program students.'
'Before taking the ACET, I had no idea what to expect. I was acting on what I knew about the exam, which is that it was nearly impossible to pass and I should already accept the fact that I won’t get in. Long story short, I had no confidence and I lost hope.
I did not expect so much. Taking the summer review program and the ACET Refresher course didn’t only give me the knowledge and the confidence that I needed to take the exam, but also showed me a fun time with great new friends along with quirky but professional teachers. With confidence on my side, I took the exam knowing that I prepared in the best way and in the best institution that I know.
My older sister went to MSA, and now she’s graduating with flying colors. I can surely say that MSA did it once more. My journey as a future college student has only begun, but I can say I started it the right way with MSA.'
'MSA helped me to be able to recall past topics that were taught in my whole stay in high school. MSA also helped me to know what is important from what's not. Aside from those, it instilled in me some test taking techniques that I was able to use in both college entrance tests that I took which lead to a great result. One of the things I learned was to answer easy questions first and then once I finish, proceed to those difficult ones.
I also learned how to manage my time better for every question due to the training that I got from MSA. I'm very thankful for the help that MSA gave me and it was really a fun and informative experience.' 'MSA has been a very big factor in my life when it comes to academics.
I enrolled in MSA back in my first year of high school. They taught me lots of methods and techniques in handling problems in different subject areas such as Math,English, and Science. Few years have passed, all my friends and family noticed the positive changes in my grades and the way I respond when it comes to school performances. During my last year as a high school student I still had MSA to guide and motivate me as I prepare for the college entrance tests of the big universities. Not only did I get to review my lessons, I also got tips from the teachers which really helped me answer the tests efficiently. After months of hardwork and preparation with MSA, the time to take the tests finally came and I was glad to leave each test room knowing that I was taught well. Eventually I found out that I passed UPCAT and ACET after they both have been released.
And I couldn't be more thankful with everything that MSA helped me because it made a very big impact in my life. It changed me from just being an average student into more responsible, and better performing student.' 'MSA help our daugther excel in St.
Scholastica's Academy. During first month of school year, she got low scores in Math quizzes, then we enrolled her at MSA for tutorial. When she took the 1st periodical test and long tests, she almost got a perfect score 39/40. With MSA she was motivated to learn more and wants to enrol not only MSA Math tutorial, but with English and Science subjects and our family is willing to support her even MSA is very far from our place.' Karylle Ayen Tapnio and Teacher Ella. For a girl who grew up in the province, the thought of reviewing for the college entrance tests in an urban area is seriously nerve-racking.
I had second thoughts before I enrolled in MSA Makati because I would have to be away from home and who would find it fun to study during summer vacation, right? But I seriously had no idea that MSA would have an enormous impact in my life. My mother enrolled me in two programs: CETP and AAP Physics.
The college entrance test review was of course my priority and taking up advanced lessons in physics was a personal decision. Because of these, I had classes six days a week. At first I thought I wouldn’t enjoy my stay in MSA but as time passed by, I found myself getting excited to go to the center whether for the review or the advanced lessons in physics.
![]()
And later on I became more comfortable being in the center that I think I became a part of the family and further discovered a “home”. I found the review a bit difficult but it was in this program of MSA that I learned how to not be ashamed of asking questions whenever I don’t understand what is being taught, how to patiently deal with my shortcomings, and how to reward myself for the good work I have done (doing this does boost your mood and motivation for getting higher grades!).
Attending the AAP Physics program also was a great joy even though I didn’t have any classmates. I enjoyed the company of the science teachers since they’re amusing and they’re the chill and cool types of educators. I never noticed it but one of the comments I got from my teacher was, “ready to face the challenges with a smile” and I do think this was because I was weirdly having a lot of fun in learning the science that deals with matter, energy, and their interaction with each other. The review paid off since I passed the two universities I applied for: UP (Los Banos, BS Human Ecology) and UST (BS Pharmacy).
And I even got bonuses which are graduating as the batch valedictorian of our school and qualifying for the academic scholarship program of UST. I know I wouldn’t remember everything they taught in Math, English and Science but I’m pretty sure that MSA left a mark in my being: I learned how to deal with this old impatient and lazy girl and transform it into a lot more cheerful, perseverant, and disciplined young lady; I learned that studying means a lot more than books and pencils because one obtains more authentic and fruitful knowledge when communication is present among the people involved; and I learned that real success is achieved when one applies discipline, passion, patience, love, and joy to his/her work.
